Marina Khachkinaeva is an award-winning pianist and versatile entertainer. My goal is to make Classical music accessible, available, understandable and therefore enjoyable to general audiences. I believe it is important to address the audience in between pieces and point out certain things about the music that I am about to play to enhance their listening experience. By providing valuable and interesting information about each piece and composer, a renewed interest in classical music may occur or in some cases a “total discovery”. I believe it will take all of us music professionals to “invest” our efforts and “stretch” our creativity out of its comfort zone in securing a next generation of musicians, music lovers, music supporters, patrons, etc. I am often amazed at how little effort it takes from a performing artist to reach out to an audience and help them enjoy the “journey” as I call it. There is nothing wrong with Classical music itself, we just have to package it differently to a whole new generation and offer it with a fresh new approach to a whole new world out there.
